Closet Poetry Reading
Today I gift to you a reading of three of my favorite poems from my closet with a candle.
Sometimes you read something and it so moves you with its power and loveliness, you are washed over with waves of desire to share such beauty.
It’s time to un-bushel such talent.
Today I want to share with you three such pieces of power and loveliness. Three poems I’ve come across recently that demand to be shared.
I wanted to put us all in the right setting to properly enjoy these works of art, so away I went to my closet with a candle and bathrobe backdrop to get us all in the mood (not that mood ya sicko). The poetry savoring mood.
The three poems are:
Testament (Homage to Walt Whitman) by Erica Jong.
A Love Letter to the Tick that Got Me Sick by Andrea Gibson
I hope you’ll take 10 quiet minutes in bed or on a walk to listen. You won’t regret it! (language warning for the first one if you’ve got little ears around)
Please enjoy.
Now tell us: what is one of your favorite poems? Has any piece of writing moved you recently?
Thanks for sharing these, Celeste! Love the theme across all three and the shout out to Whitman. Today I declare myself for joy.
